Rajinder Kachru
Rajinder Kachru is an eminent ghazal and bhajan singer of the country. He is admired so much that there is an R.K.Fan Club in New York. Yet he continues to be humble.
Rajinder was fond of singing right from his childhood. At one stage he was so enamoured of Lata Mangeshkar’s voice that he sang only her songs. He appeared on the stage when he was six. He learnt classical music from Pt. V.P.Dhar, Shri Satish Bhatia, Pt. Mani Prasad and Ustad Naseer Ahmed Khan.
In 1982, he went abroad for the first time. Since then he has been regularly going on long tours to places across the U.S,
He has been singing now for more than 30 years. Some of his more famous cassettes are: Kashmiri Bhakti Geet, Lalvaakh, Ram Sancho Tero Naam etc.
In 1996, he presented a dance drama based on the personality and work of Lalleshwari, written by Dr S.S. Toshkhani.
He works as an Electrical Engineer for the Delhi Vidyut Board.

Anupam Kher
The most eminent character actor in today’s filmdom, Anupam Kher, is a Kashmiri Pandit who was born in Himachal Pradesh. He is one of the galaxy of big stars that have emerged from the National School of Drama.
Starting his film career with a bang in Saraansh with a highly sensitive portrayal of an old man who loses his young son, Anupam never looked back and went on to act in over 250 films. These have been mostly in the genre of commercial cinema. Anupam has played everything___ villain, comedian, character actor. You name it and he has done it.
He is still fond of the stage and takes time off from his busy schedule to devote himself to the theatre. Recently, he acted in Salgirah. He considers the stage to be live entertainment.
He has received numerous awards, but he specially treasures the Sharda Samman and the pheran given to him by the Kashmiri Pandit Maha Sammelan. He is proud of his Kashmiri identity.
